Information about Pony Rides!

We arrived to Tri-Circle-D Ranch about 45 minutes before closing time and there was a few families ahead of us in line. Once it was our turn the Cast Members measured my oldest son’s height using one of the doors (he barely made it under) and collected the fee. You can pay with Magic Band or credit card.

They used the gate to measure the height of riders.

Time for our pony rides!

The boys were then fitted for helmets and we waited for our turn. We decided that the boys will go one after another instead of at the same time so hubby could stay off to the side and snap pictures.

My 4 year old on pony Desi!

Carter was up first and he was a bit nervous. The Cast Members were amazing and encouraged mine to take his time. Our pony’s name was Desi and he was very well behaved as I lead him around the area twice.

My 7 year old’s turn on pony Design!

Colton was next and you can see that he’s getting just a smidge too tall for little Desi but we still had a relaxing walk around.

So many amazing horses at the Circle-D-Circle Ranch!

Both boys enjoyed their pony ride experience and then we took some time to see the larger horses in the stables.

Final Thoughts

  • These pony rides at Fort Wilderness was easy, fun and a great activity of younger kids!
  • Definitely get there about 30 minutes before closing to ensure that there is time for your pony rides.
  • Recommend wearing closed toes shoes since the ponies do use the bathroom during the walks.
  • Tri-Circle-D Ranch and the horses are amazing and I highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the Fort Wilderness Area. You do not need to be a guest of the resort to visit.
