Revisit Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival 2020

February 26, 2021

Epcot’s Flower and Garden festival is known for its delicious outdoor kitchens and beautiful topiaries. Last year’s festival was scheduled from March 4th until June 1st before the festival was cut short with the closure of Walt Disney World.

Let’s revisit my first day of Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival in 2020.

The Flowers

Epcot is currently going through so much construction right now that I have been calling it “Wall-cot”. But I was surprised to see that there were colorful flower topiaries at the entrance of the park.

How cute is my friend Kelly??

And I once again love seeing all the topiaries around Epcot!

All the topiaries are so beautiful!

THE MERCHANDISE

We arrived at Mouse Gear around 9:10 and the lines to check out were out the door! But from what we could see, Disney has once again stepped up their game on the merchandise presenting us with 2 collections: Floral and Orange Bird. Festival merchandise can be found in Mouse Gear or in several Festival Marketplace around the World Showcase!

And of course, we couldn’t forget about our Passholder Magnet. There are 2 magnets for this festival with Donald from 3/4-4/19 and Orange Bird from 4/20-6/1. Passholder magnets can be picked up with a Magic Band/park ticket and a photo ID at the back entrance of Mouse Gear.

Spike’s Pollen-nation exploration 2020

Spike’s scavenger hunt returns with a new map design and prizes! Search for Spike around the World Showcase and place a sticker in the corresponding location. Once completed (or even if you don’t), turn in your map for an adorable prize. You can choose from 4 different and cute cups!

There are 2 scavenger hunts during this festival!

How cute are these cups?

LAST BUT NOT LEAST…THE FOOD!

The crowds were actually quite reasonable for an opening day of a festival, probably thanks to the opening of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway over at Hollywood Studios. However, it became very hot around lunchtime so we only made it to a few stands at the entrance to the World Showcase.

  • Pineapple Promenade for Violet Lemonade: a must-have for me!
  • Trowels and Trellis for Corn on the Cob and Impossible Meatball: the meatball was surprisingly good but the real winner was the garlic spread corn.
  • Refreshment Port for Popsicle Trio: a refreshing treat but eat it quickly before it melts.

Popsicle Trio was very fruity and refreshing!

The Garden Graze includes 5 different vegetarian food items from the festival booths. Eat any of the 5 items (repeated items allowed too) and receive a complimentary Mango and Lime Dole Whip in a cute Garden Graze cup at the end. I will definitely have to return to complete it!

The Garden Graze is a fun way to try some plant based foods!

That was my recap of my first day of Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival in 2020. Can’t wait to visit the festival this year!
