Staying at Disney Resort after Reopening

The entrance of Disney’s Boardwalk Resort

This past weekend my family stayed at Disney’s Boardwalk Villas and was able to check it off our list for staying at every DVC resort on Disney World Property. This was our 1st stay with the boys since the reopening of Walt Disney World and they had a blast. We were also very impressed with the location and the safety measures in place.

Lobby

Front Desk of Disney’s Boardwalk Resort

Once arriving at the lobby, we are greeted with Health and Safety signs and a hand sanitizer. Another sign informed us that if we completed the Online Check-In Service that we would be notified with our room number and do not have to visit the front desk. However, if for any reason you need to visit the front desk, there are distancing markers on the floors and plexiglass at the counter.

Social distancing is also enforced in the elevators with signs indicating only “one party or four individuals per elevator”. You can also find wipes and hand sanitizer in front of the elevators.

Quick Service and Shops

Shops are similar to all the others around Disney with indicated entrance/exit doors, hand sanitizers, markings on the floor, and plexiglass at registers. The quick-service locations at the Boardwalk include the Boardwalk Bakery and Pizza Window. While they did have social distancing markers on the floors, they did not offer mobile ordering like a lot of other resort quick services.

A Cast Member will assist with filling drinks

The Boardwalk Bakery did make a change where a Cast Member was present to fill your drink cups/mugs instead of doing it yourself.

Disney has also ensured further sanitation and included a sign to show where Enhanced Cleaning has taken place. They also sanitized and wrapped the remote in plastic. I was also very surprised to see the bag for extra blankets and pillows with a seal that needs to be broken.

Final Thoughts

Overall, we had a great first visit back with the family. We felt super safe and were so happy to have completed our DVC resort list.

Loved: Biggest pro was the location and proximity to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. We also enjoyed the whole feel of the lobby and the Boardwalk.

Did not love: The room felt smaller than other Deluxe Studios and we were not huge fans of the Quick Service options.

What’s your favorite Disney Resort and will you be visiting one soon?
